Classic Bookfest in Toronto

To June 22: Books on Film at the TIFF Bell Lightbox

Hosted by CBC’s Eleanor Wachtel, each screening at this festival will include a conversation with a different filmmaker, author or film expert who will discuss the challenges of adaptation.

This year's films include:

May 11 - Allan Scott on Don’t Look Now

June 1 - Irvine Welsh on Trainspotting

June 22 - Phillip Lopate on The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

To May 25: 86'd Mondays at the Drake Hotel

Ivy Knight hosts every Monday night at The Drake Hotel, a series of foodie events. The weekly events usually see a friendly competition between local chefs, whether it is a fight for best guacamole, or best birthday cake or, best pickles, there is always some delicious food to try.

To June 14: Deep Woods at Harbourfront Centre

Over 30 artists from across Canada display their interpretations of the mystery and depth present in the woods that reach across our country. The woods are depicted on film and canvas, creating visions of forests and all the mystery found within them.
